If you follow me on twitter you might have noticed this tweet:
And boy is there a story that goes along with it. I felt SO AWFUL that it has taken me days to find the funny…and thankfully, my coworker is gracious (and thought the scenario was hilarious), so guess what?!?! I’m sharing it with you now! Embarrassment = blog fodder, no?!
So, I have a few coworkers who have sick and twisted senses of humor just like me and we often share horrifying stories, laugh at people who fall, and send photos, articles, and general randomness to each other over email. Basically, we are each other’s sounding board in an intense corporate environment.
Last week, I saw something on FB, that was pinned on Pinterest, that came from a website, etc, etc, etc. It was so up my alley, that I sent it off to the gang immediately. No one really responded. I thought it was weird, but whatever…
The next day, my assistant mentioned that she needed to go run an errand for Kelly since she was out due to her father-in-law’s sudden death.
IMMEDIATELY, MY HEART STOPPED.
I had one of those @#$%@#%#@%! moments. You see, the email I had sent to the gang, including Kelly was just this picture:
As she was out of the office handling FUNERAL arrangements, I sent her a text apologizing profusely for my insensitive email and poor timing and offering my condolences. PRAISE GOD, she wrote back and said she thought it was freaking hilarious and even belly laughed over it with her husband more than once.
Over the next few days, my foot slowly dislodged from my mouth (email) and I’ve become ever so grateful that I have friends at work who are just as sick in the head as me!
Please tell me that I’m not the only one with terrible timing on these kinds of things!!!

Seriously! We have to have grace with each other. When you love someone, you HAVE to give them the benefit of the doubt and know that their intent it not to harm. Thank goodness for a sweet friend like Kelly and thank goodness that you reached out to her. You are not the only one. It never fails… I can NOT ever talk about people because they are behind me 100% of the time. Have a great day!
Are you wearing the A$$hole pin? I can make you one? I have a beverage napkin right here….
