This weekend, I attended a GORGEOUS wedding in Ojai. My coworker was a radiant bride and the setting was just exquisite. I could kick myself for not taking my bike, running shoes, tennis racket or golf clubs…this resort is one I DEFINITELY want to return to.
Knowing that my closet lacked the perfect dress for the wedding, I did what I normally would do…procrastinate until the last minute, then run to Nordstrom at lunch, praying I’d find something. Not only did I find the perfect dress, but it was on sale and a size smaller than I usually wear – it was meant to be!
I traded out the belt (for a gold one) and found a cute pair of nude wedges (wedding was on a grassy lawn), had the jewelry and perfect clutch, and I was ready to go.
We got to the resort a bit early to have lunch and a glass of wine. It also gave me plenty of time to rock out my velcro rollers. Yes, Baldy (me) still uses those suckers! I felt comfortable, pretty, and sorta booblicious. It was a perfect evening. I didn’t over eat (or over drink!) and I danced my arse off! What a wonderful celebration for my dear friend/coworker!
Dress: Julie Dillon Belt: Michael Kors Shoes: Wristlet: Coach (a couple of years old) Earrings: Random jeweler Ring & Bracelet: Ariella for Nordstrom
The next morning, we decided to hit up the veranda for brunch and one table over was Rachel Bilson. I’ve never been a fan of her shows, but I sure as heck do read People Magazine and US Weekly, so I knew who she was right away. My coworker across the table had a look of concentration for about half of the meal when she finally asked if there was a famous person across from us. It was hilarious…and ps, she is TINY.
After brunch, we decided to hit up the Ojai Farmers Market. As we were walking up, I nearly ran into someone, but we did the awkward side step back and forth to let the other person by…half a second later, I realized it was Reese Witherspoon. I saw her husband and son right behind her and then realized she did just get married up there. Such a small small world!!!
I text messaged a friend about both sightings and she thought I was ridiculous for not whipping out my iPhone for photos, but I guess I have just realized (as a So Cal girl) that celebs are normal people, too, and deserve their privacy…I’d clearly make a TERRIBLE paparazzi! ; )
Linking up to Lindsay’s WIWW page! She’s doing a giveaway today, so check it out!

Damn, loving that dress!
you look HAWT! meow!
You look great! I went to high school across from the resort! Such a small world indeed
Love that dress! I’m unsuccessfully shopping for a dress for my brother’s wedding right now. I hope your good luck will rub off on me. Great celebrity sightings! I don’t think I would have taken pictures either. Nashville seems to have the same “they’re real people too” philosophy. But I still get excited when I see one!
you look fab, as always.
how fun to see celebrities. i definitely wouldn’t have played it cool over reese witherspoon. i have no idea who rachel bilson is though.
love that dress with the gold belt- you look great! and how funny, i am not a fan of any of rachel bilson shows either, but would recognize her from the magazines as well… i do however LOVE reese witherspoon. i think i wouldve had to say hello to her
You look so pretty! Love the dress. and how fun to see som famous folk! wow….perfect little getaway!
