Every year at Christmastime, I do a charity project with my Rotary Club. We deliver gifts and food to needy families in Chino.
And every year, I partner with my pal Julie…and she brings her nephews. Some of our cohorts bring their children, as well.
I can’t remember the first time the topic of charity was introduced to me as a child. I went to church and knew that we sometimes did things for other people, but I don’t think I worked at a food bank or something until I was well into high school.
While these cute kiddos may not really have understood the importance of what we did on Saturday morning, they did know they were “helping” people…and I think that’s pretty great.
At what age do you think kids should be introduced to charity and service?
