When my friends announced they were moving to Switzerland, I said how soon can I visit? I casually mentioned to my mom that I was going to make a big trip this year and she said us, too, meet us in Sweden. It sounded like a dream.
Then the conversations really began…and months and months of conversations went by with no real plans.
Two weeks ago, my mom announced she was working with a travel agent and that I should start looking at some dates in APRIL! Less than two months away.
This crap got real…FAST.
I looked online and found a flight that wasn’t cuckoo crazy expensive. LAX to Switzerland to Sweden to LAX for less than $1500. But didn’t buy it…it was still expensive and I just didn’t want to pull that trigger for some reason.
Yesterday, I got my bonus unexpectedly early and the flight was still available and cheap.
I bought it.
Somebody, pinch me…I’m going to Europe in less than two months!!!
I hope my passport gets here in time!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m SO, so, so jealous and happy for you! Mostly happy. But yes, supremely jealous. You are going to have an amazing time!
yeow! so fun!
Yahoooo!!!!! Is your suitcase big enough for me to fit?
Have fun!
I got my passport in 2-3 weeks, and I didn’t even expedite. Hope yours comes soon!
I was in Sweden this past summer, my first trip to Europe, and absolutely LOVED it! Stockholm is the perfect mix of modern and old. Make sure you set aside several hours to wander the tiny cobblestoned streets of Gamla Stan. I also highly recommend the Vasa Ship Museum – I over heard a Swede say that they would be the only ones to “make a museum out of a mistake”. I was also in Gothenburg and Karlskrona. ENJOY!
Pinch, pinch
Fun, fun fun! What a great trip you are going to have, so excited for you!
I’m so freaking jealous. Still never been to Europe at 35. So sad
wah wah! have a great time lady, you deserve it!
I am soooo excited! Got my flight too…less than $1000–whoopwhoop!!
