I Can't Sit Still

I don't know about you, but sometimes I get so excited about something new that I want to do ALL THE THINGS and do them RIGHT NOW! But I'm also in a season where I realize that slowing down and taking a breather is a good thing. It's Spring and the sun is shining here in Southern California...I need to remind myself to soak it in and experience renewal rather than just relish in the rush of daily life.

Food and I have an interesting history. I discovered Weight Watchers several years ago, and for the most part, live by its principles. For me, the system works. I love being able to go online and find new recipes to try or to even upload old standards to find out the points per serving. I’m not obsessive about staying on target and definitely enjoy a night out chowing down on an incredible meal. On a healthy eating scale of 1 to 10, I’d probably give myself an 8. I’ve been incorporating more fruits and vegetables, eating smaller meals of lean protein, and I avoid buying snacks or dessert foods.

With that said, I have been known to go off the deep end so far that I can’t even see the surface – and once in a while, that’s fine with me!

During two of these instances, however, I woke up, jumped on the scale for the bad news and was lighter than the day before. It shocked me, but then the scientist in me, ahem, decided to try it again and found the same thing to be true.

When I drink an entire bottle of this

I am two pounds lighter the next day.

And when I eat an entire box of these

I am 1 to 2 pounds lighter the next day.

Yes, I am a freak and yes, I have tested these theories a few too many times (usually when I’m hormonal), but dang, getting skinny that way tasted GOOD.

I’m pretty sure JHud would be horrified by this development…and that you probably are, too. But, it’s Wednesday…and I’ve always found Wednesdays to be good days to confess my dirty little secrets.

Carry on.

  1. i would split both of these with you – the question is if it would make us both lose double or mess up the science :)

  2. hilarious.
i think its time to crack open that bottle of wine.

also. those stupid desserts. so good.
can you eat just one? no.
    one box. yes.

have you tried the chocolate covered raspberry ones? taste like see’s candy.
    :) YUM!

  3. Haha. Oh jeez, my husband and I have both done Weight Watchers on and off and those ice cream bars (and their other varieties) are SO FREAKING GOOD. Its impossible to not finish the box. I swear they have crack in them.

  4. I’m not saying I need to do my own scientific research. I’m just saying. :)

    P.S. I heart you.

  5. Vanessa says:

I wonder if you drank the entire bottle of wine + the whole box of ice cream candy bars if you’d be lighter by 4 pounds….? Hmmmm…..I’ll let you know. Haha.

  6. ummm I’m thinking that WE need to try those ice cream bars over here! my husband LOVES ice cream and is definitely on a healthy eating kick so this would be right up his alley. and I can justify it because “it has FIBER & PROTEIN”!!

  7. well then, i am going to need to eat an entire box of those w.w. bars!
