In spite of the fact that I often complain about my body and am constantly dieting and working out, I DO have a feature that I absolutely love and wouldn’t want to change.
My lips.
I was once stopped by a random man on the street who said, “pardon me, miss, but you have very kissable lips.” And then he walked away. It was bizarre, but not really offensive.
And interestingly enough, he totally confirmed what I sorta already knew. ; )
For many years now, my makeup routine hasn’t deviated much. I like a pretty neutral eye, demure blush, and lipstick that flatters my coloring. But over the last year, when I’ve gone into pick up new eye shadow or blush, I’ve randomly asked salespeople what color lipstick they thought I should wear…just to see what they’d recommend.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised in most cases.
And as a result, my lipstick repertoire has broadened!
The one thing that hasn’t changed is that I ALWAYS wear lip liner. Lip liner allows me to highlight the sweetheart dip in the middle and elongate the corners of my smile. Sometimes, I fill in my lips, but sometimes I like a little definition. I also NEVER wear gloss. I have fine lines that cause gloss to feather out or “bleed,” which just makes my lips look messy.
Here are a few of my newer lip looks. (Please forgive the hair in bun after a long day look…and the cheesy self-portraits!)
Do you change up your lip color or does it stay the same on a daily basis???

Young Judy Garland. That is all.
If someone told me I had kissable lips, I’d be flattered, too! I’m a little jealous of your lipstick repertoire. I have chapped lips and lipstick only dries them out more- or I think the color looks strange on me. I stick with lip gloss for special occasions.

imma need you to help me pick out some colors!
I have a hard time finding lip color that looks good on my because of my coloring (olive, but not pretty olive, the albino olive!). That light pink is my favorite but they all look lovely! You do have the most amazing sweetheart dip! <3
I love your bronze and like the nude – and I use a bright coral for myself. Really loving that this summer!
I like them all on you! ~ Pretty lady! I’ve worn a lot of hot pink this summer – just for kicks. ~CA
Love that last one! Ooh la la!
Pretty lips and lip colors! I don’t wear actual lipstick very often, but gloss doesn’t always work for me, cause I find it comes off so fast. I think I need to take a page out of your book and get some liner. I’ve been meaning to do that for a while, as I know it would extend my lip color’s life by a long shot!
You so pretty. ::giggle::
I think I need some lessons. I’m afraid of lip color a little. I wear a neutral pink on the days I remember to apply it. I always wear make-up -except for lipstick.
