Last week, by choice, I had laser beams shot into my eyeballs.
AND I AM ON CLOUD 9!
Three weeks ago, my optometrist finally gave me the go ahead to have lasik surgery. One week later, I was in for a consultation. A week after that, I had my eyeballs sliced open and firey lasers were shot into them.
Never let it be said that I’m NOT an impulse shopper.
With the promise of pain free and instantaneous vision, I was ready to sign on the dotted line. When they said I’d be given Xanax to make me sleepy and relaxed, I scribbled out my name immediately.
I showed up in my casual clothes, went through additional eye tests, then took the first pill. I was led into the laser room, given numbing eye drops and then hopped up onto the table. The whole surgery took less than 5 minutes.
My mom drove me home, put me to bed at 3pm, I woke up briefly at 9:45pm, took another pill and ate a piece of cheese, then instantly fell asleep again until 7am. When I woke up, I could see everything. EVERYTHING. I’ve continued to reach for my glasses every morning, but then I smile and remember that I’ll never need those sukahs ever again.
I’m so stoked…even though I can’t wear eye makeup for a week and look like a zombie.
Oh, and for the record, I TOTALLY made my mom film the surgery…because, ya know, that’s what bloggers do!
If you live in So Cal and are considering lasik, feel free to email me and I’ll give you more details and my doctor’s information. His procedure comes with a lifetime guarantee and free tune ups if needed. Boom.

I want LASIK soooo bad! Alas, my prescription keeps getting worse so I keep waiting!
Ohmygoodness. I don’t know if I can watch. Is it gross? LOL
I’m so excited for you!!
Awesome news Jen!!!!! So glad it went well.
I can’t believe you had your mom take a video too! I mean, I can believe it but still. You make me smile. Maybe one day I’ll follow in your LASIK footsteps.
