Spring Has Sprung

I love how the sun stays out longer, how colorful flowers are in bloom, and how everyone I seem to know is preggo. The vineyards bubble with activity, neighbors spend more time socializing outdoors, and how my favorite bloggers seem to have a renewed purpose these days. Don't you?!

HOW BOUT THEM APPLES?!

This weekend, I joined my sister and some dear family friends of ours in Oak Glen for a day of apple picking.

Never having been before, I was excited to get be invited by the gals and to see what the fuss was all about.

Okay, that’s not completely true. I totally invited myself.

When you were little, did you ever hold your tongue and say “apple” just to hear yourself say a dirty word?

We found a quaint little spot to have lunch and I kept thinking of my mom…the attached shop looked like Christmas had thrown up all over it. It nearly gave me the hives…the Christmas shop, not the lunch.

Later, we walked through an orchard, tasted myriad apples and apple ciders, and ate apple cider donuts, which were INSANELY delicious!

It was the perfect first trip up to apple country…and I can’t wait for it to become a Fall tradition!

In honor of Halloween, I told the girls I had an idea for a “ghost” picture…spooky, huh?! ;-)

Hey Jennifer! Question for you-did you go on Saturday or Sunday and to which farm? I’m trying to plan a weekend out there but it looks like the popular Riley’s is closed on Sundays, hence my curiosity to know which day you went.

Thank you! And love the new look :)

Did I lead a sheltered life? Why am I 40 and didn’t know the apple trick and couldn’t even figure it out without trying? That’s totally going to be a code word in my house now and I feel quite confident that no one will figure out what I’m saying.

And now I must go get some donuts!

Oh I TOTALLY did the apple tongue trick growing up. Really, this should be no surprise to you by now. Also I adore apple donuts, haven’t had them since I lived in the midwest! That ghost pic cracks me up.
